Personal Computers

According to the Law for Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources, manufacturers of household personal computers are independently conducting the collection and recycling of used computers. Accordingly, the city does not collect personal computers as large-sized waste or noncombustible garbage.

Applicable Items and Fees (example of major manufacturers)

• Notebook computers, desktop computer bodies, liquid crystal displays (LCD), single-body LCD computers: 3,150yen each (tax included)
• CRT-based displays, all-in-one computers with CRT-based displays: 4,200yen each (tax included)

Where to Apply

Apply with the relevant manufacturer by telephone or Internet.
If the manufacturer is undetermined (if they have gone bankrupt or if your computer is homemade), please call the PC 3R Promotion Center (Tel: 5282-7685).
* For computers with the identifying "PC Recycling Mark," the collection and recycling fees are included in the price at the time of purchase.
