Children's Centers and After-School Clubs
Children's Centers
Children's Centers help enliven various activities involving community children. In addition, the centers are used as a place for children to play and conduct activities. There are 27 Children's centers in the city and Higashi-Nakano Work Office.
Regular Activities
The facilities are designed so anyone can visit the Children's center freely, play and make friends independently and actively in a relaxed atmosphere.
Events
The center offers assistance so that children can expand regular activities, achieve unusual things and conduct activities independently.
Community Activities
The following activities are conducted to enrich the educational potential of the community:
A Children's center-operated council is held consisting of various people from the community.
Equipment and meeting rooms are available for rent to child-rearing groups in the community.
Networks involving children are organized.
Hours
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays and school holidays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Those Who Can Use the Centers
Children between 0 and 18 years of age and their parents or guardians (as a rule, infants and toddlers must be accompanied by a parent).
Closed
Mondays, Sundays, national holidays, during the year-end/New Year holidays and whenever the Mayor deems necessary. (However, groups can use the facilities on Sundays on an independently managed basis.)
After-School Clubs
After-School Clubs protect school children who would otherwise be alone at home after school so that they can spend time in a safe place, and help them grow through play and activities.
Those Who Can Use the Clubs
Children between the 1st and 3rd Grade of elementary school who live in Nakano City who are unable to receive adult supervision at home after school with parents who fulfill any of the After-School Club User Standards.
User Standards
(Parent's Condition) Work, school, technical training, job-hunting, etc.: If the parent is unable to look after the child for one and a half hours or more after school for three or more days of the week. Illness: If the parent is hospitalized or convalescing at home (chronically ill). Nursing: If the parent needs to accompany/nurse someone. Disability: If the parent has a Physically Disabled Person's Handbook Level 4 or an Ai-no-Techo (Mentally Disabled Person's) Handbook Level 4 or higher
(Child's Condition)
If attendance at an After-School Club for one and a half hours or more for three or more days of the week is considered normal
Days
After-school clubs are open every day from Monday through Saturday, excluding Sundays, national holidays, during the year-end/New Year holidays and whenever the Mayor deems necessary.
Hours
Monday through Friday, after school until 6:00 p.m.
Saturdays, school holidays and when the school as a unit is closed, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
