Immunizations

Before a child reaches three months of age, the Nakano City Immunizations Desk will mail the parents Pre-Checkup Slips for immunizations that the child needs to receive before reaching 7 1/2 years of age.
Those having children who have moved into Nakano Ward at age of 3 months or over or children who have not got all vaccinations yet are required to come to child counseling counter (on the 3rd floor in Nakano City Office), health and welfare centers, or Nakano health center with maternity health notebooks. Vaccination coupons will be issued.

Immunization received no later than 6-months of age (You will be sent Pre-Checkup Slips):
  • BCG
Immunization received no later than 7 1/2 years of age (You will be sent Pre-Checkup Slips):
  • DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus combination)
  • MR (Measles-Rubella combination vaccine) first stage
  • Polio
  • Japanese Encephalitis first stage
* Currently, the vaccine for Japanese Encephalitis has been stopped.
Immunizations received before entering elementary school:
  • MR (Measles-Rubella combination vaccine) second stage
    Vaccinations are received between April 1 and March 31 of the year before the child enters elementary school.
    The Immunizations Desk mails Pre-Checkup Slips to parents of eligible children.
Mailing Period: End of May of the year before the child enters elementary school
Immunizations received as an elementary/junior high school student:
  • DT (Diphtheria and Tetanus combination)
    Mailing Period: End of June during 6th Grade of elementary school
    Vaccination coupons will be sent to those who are supposed to get vaccinations by person in charge of vaccinations separately.
  • Japanese Encephalitis second stage
    * Currently, the vaccine for Japanese Encephalitis has been stopped.
    〈Only for 5 years beginning in fiscal 2008〉
  • In the 7th grad
    Fourth-stage of measles-rubella vaccine (MR)
    Mailing Period:in May of relevant age
    Vaccination coupons will be sent to those who are supposed to get vaccinations by person in charge of vaccinations separately.
