Water

Since tap water in Japan is disinfected, it is drinkable as it is. If water services will be shut off or if the water is murky due to construction work, etc., the schedule and areas affected are announced via newspaper fliers and bulletins. When using water services for the first time, either mail a water service application form or contact the Customer Center of the Water Bureau. When moving out, you must give notification four or five days in advance, giving the Water Valve Number written on your receipt.
